Character Animation

This page is dedicated to showcasing several different types of animation in a 3D environment. The first set of animations are character animations for the protagonist in a came project titled Project Maelstrom. For this character, movement and attack animations were created to bring life to the combat of the character.

Metroid Dread - Samus Character Animation

This animation was inspired and created to mimic the character style of Samus in Metroid Dread. Hand-keyed in Blender, this animation attempts to emulate the rigid agility and precision that Samus' modern character is known for in many of the new Metroid games.

Complete with a walk, run, backflip, and other various smaller animations, this little clip was used as another practice tool for animation, as well as a way to gain familiarity with Blender's interface.

Character model and rig was created by the team over at Curiomatic, and animated in my free time using Blender. A link to their page can be found below.

Environment & Motion Capture

Environment

This next set of 3D Animations showcase a mixture of particle, vector, and motion-captured animation. Creating fire particles, a rainbow, and some other various vector animations.

The motion capture animation was created using Autodesk's Motion Builder and professional Motion Capture tools. The animation data was applied to a 3D model in Autodesk Maya and then implemented into Unreal Engine 4.

3D Model for Motion Capture is the property of Riot Games' League of Legends and downloaded through

Facial Rig

FaceRig

This section of an animation reel is used to showcase work with facial animation and lip syncing. Utilizing a standard head model, I was able to create a lip sync animation with morph targets based off voice lines from Edgar Wright's Baby Driver.

Facial animations were synced up with Jamie Fox's monologue scene in Bo's Diner, and character animations were created using Autodesk Maya's robust animation tools.

Fun Anims

Zelda Character Animation

This animation was inspired by meme culture, I have seen many people that just want to animate this Bruno Mars meme post, so I figured that I'd give it a try as well.

Character model and rig was created by Christoph (The Stoff) Schoch, and animated in my free time using Autodesk Maya. A link to his page can be found below.
